At Analytical Chemistry we work with fundamental research and method development. This includes all the parts of “The Analytical Chain”, from sampling and clean-up to chromatography and other high efficiency separation techniques, mass spectrometric methods and data analysis. Our research areas include biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases, bioanalysis, oral phototherapy, human exposure measurements, chemometric algorithms for data evaluation, airborne particles, biofuels, exhaust emissions, neurotoxins, textile chemicals, skin allergens and more. Sample matrices vary from air and water to human samples, food, and consumer products. Compounds of particular interest are polycyclic aromatic compounds (PACs), terpenoids, isothiocyanates, lipids, porphyrins, pharmaceuticals, biopolymers, amino acids and their metabolites.
