The goal is to study processes in the natural atmosphere and to assess the impact of human activities on the atmospheric composition and understand their effects on air quality, health, and global climate. Long-term and campaign-wise field studies are combined with laboratory experiments, theoretical studies and modeling to track changes, quantify transport, and characterize sources and sinks of atmospheric pollutants.
