An urban long-term monitoring network for black carbon will be established. The purpose is to improve the knowledge on the concentrations, trends and sources of combustion related particles in Sweden. The measurement should be used in assessments of the health and environmental effects of aerosol emissions and provide the necessary knowledge base for considerations of new alternative air quality limit values and goals.
