Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are among the most common organic contaminants in human blood. Drinking water and food represent two of the major PFAS exposure sources. This project represents an ongoing collaboration between ACES and Livsmedelsverket which focuses on human biomonitoring of PFASs and exposure source characterization. Projects include PFAS food basket and human temporal trend studies as well as the characterization of commercial PFAS formulations in food packaging and paper products.
