Within the Swedish national monitoring program and various regional monitoring programs, we analyse PCBs, DDTs, several organochlorine pesticides, PBDEs and HBCD in selected biological samples. These include tissue samples from shellfish, freshwater and marine fish species, seabirds, predatory birds, and marine mammals collected at specific monitoring sites in and around Sweden as well as human breast milk samples. Data are used by the Swedish EPA for monitoring spatial and temporal trends within international conventions.
