Small plants in test tubes

We conduct world leading research on topics of global importance. Our work is highly interdisciplinary across the natural sciences, and is funded by numerous sources, such as research councils, national and international government agencies, foundations and industry. Extensive state-of-the-art facilities for chemical analysis, particle characterization and aquaria experimentation as well as several modelling platforms are important foundations for our work.

Our research is aligned to four main areas: chemical contaminants, atmospheric aerosols, biogeochemical cycles of carbon and nutrients, and (eco)toxicology. These areas represent our most current challenges that we will continue to address in the coming years.
