When the “QS world university rankings by subject” were announced for 2017, Stockholm University came 40th in the world in environmental sciences.

Besides environmental science, Stockholm University was ranked in the top 50 universities in the world in Geography (39th), Social policy & Administration (46th), and Sociology (49th).

QS Rankings are published annually by the British firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). Universities and subjects are ranked nationally and internationally. Together with Times Higher Education World University Rankings and the Academic Ranking of World Universities, QS is one of the most influential and trusted ranking lists.
