The Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) has decided on approved applications within natural and engineering sciences 2018. Stockholm University receives 44 grants, among them five grants go to researchers at the Department of Environmental Science and Analytical Chemistry (ACES).
Elena Gorokhova, Professor, gets a research project grant of 2 850 000 SEK for the project “Ecological significance of hepatotoxin biodegradation: towards understanding adaptations to harmful blooms.”
Jonathan Martin, Professor, receives a research project grant of 2 916 000 SEK for the project “Nontarget Analytical Methods for Contaminant Biomonitoring of Humans and Wildlife in the Era of the Exposome” and Douglas Nilsson, Associate professor, has been awarded 3 380 000 SEK for “Characterising properties of Climate Relevant Organic and Inorganic Sea-Spray-aerosols, Sources and Air-sea exchange causing their Net-emission (CROISSANT)”.
Birgit Wild, Post doc, gets a starting grant of 3 400 000 SEK for the project “Nitrous oxide fluxes from the East Siberian Arctic Shelf” and Paul Zieger, Assistant professor, has been awarded a starting grant of 3 200 000 SEK for “Biogenic particles and their role in the formation of Arctic clouds”.
The Swedish Research Council rewards research of the highest scientific quality in national competition. The purpose of the research project grant is to give researchers the freedom to formulate by themselves the research concept, method and implementation, and to solve a specific research task within a limited period of time. The aim of the starting grant is to give junior researchers the opportunity to establish themselves as independent researchers.
