Tinka Murk (adviser to MiSSE) recently published a review of a set of in vitro testing assays covering the most important mechanisms for TH disruption by chemicals. This paper discuss which endpoints and which currently available in vitro assays can measure are most suitable for medium to high-throughput testing. Among others, two assays which are selected for THD screening within MiSSE are discussed, i.e. the TTR-binding assay and the GH3.TRELuc assay, measuring transport protein disruption and receptor binding, respectively.
