“Particle formation” vs. “particle growth”: Robust metric for determining the onset of condensational growth of nanoparticles

I’ll discuss how to robustly model and interpret observations of formation of atmospheric nanoparticles from condensable vapors and their growth in the nanometer size range. Correct representation of these processes is critical for resolving particle formation mechanisms, and for quantifying atmospheric particle loadings and effects.
