The topic focuses on the concentrations and fate of key elements in freshwater and coastal ecosystems, as well as the exchange between the terrestrial environment and the atmosphere. Besides advanced chemical and isotopic measurements and field campaigns, we develop and apply mechanistic earth system models to investigate the implications of climate change for the lateral and vertical transport of carbon.

ACES is part of the SECTION FOR EARTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES at Stockholm University, which covers a wide range of research into the Earth’s formation, climate and the environment.
