You are welcome to come up with your own idea or go with one of the available degree projects. A great way to find a degree project is to contact a teacher at ACES with whom you would like to do a degree project with. This way you can find an exciting project that interests you. When a degree project has been selected the syllabus has to be approved by the coordinator for degree projects in Analytical Chemistry (Roger Westerholm), Environmental Science (Paul Glantz) and Environmental Chemistry (Birgit Paulsson).

The requirements for completing a degree project at master’s level in analytical chemistry, environmental science or environmental chemistry can be found at under the respective degree project.

Here you can find advice on how to complete a degree project. (pdf-document)

You can find out about learning goals and the grading criteria for degree projects in environmental science here. (pdf-document)

Here you can download a template of a written report at the master’s level. (Word-template)

ACES is part of the SECTION FOR EARTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES at Stockholm University, which covers a wide range of research into the Earth’s formation, climate and the environment.

If you want to know more about the work of the Section for Earth and Environmental Sciences read the article by former Section Dean and ACES Professor Cynthia de Wit published in Pan European Networks: Science and Technology.
